Overview

Fifteen days exploring Japan's snow, culture, and cities — from the legendary powder of Hakuba Valley to the temples of Kyoto and the bright lights of Tokyo. Six full days skiing freely across the Hakuba Valley resorts (with shuttle access between mountains), bookended by sightseeing in Tokyo and Kyoto and bullet-train transfers handled by an English-speaking assistant. Optional add-ons include a Snow Monkey day trip and a traditional drumming-show dinner.

Itinerary

Fri 12 Feb

Day 1 — Fly into Tokyo

Fly into Tokyo from your hometown. English-speaking assistant (ESA) meets the group and provides private transfer to the Tokyo accommodation. Check in and rest after the long flight.

Sat 13 Feb

Day 2 — Transfer to Hakuba Valley

Meet ESA in the hotel lobby. Private coach transfer to Hakuba Valley with optional half-day Tokyo sightseeing en route. Check in to the Hakuba village hotel and onsen. Group welcome dinner.

Sun 14 Feb

Days 3–8 — Ski in Hakuba Valley

Six full days skiing freely across the Hakuba Valley ski resorts. Free shuttle buses run between resorts. Optional add-ons: Snow Monkey day trip with guide, group dinner with traditional drumming show. Lunches and most dinners on your own.

Sat 20 Feb

Day 9 — Bullet train to Kyoto

Meet ESA in the hotel lobby. Large suitcases and ski equipment are forwarded by luggage truck to the Tokyo hotel. Private coach transfer to Nagano station, then board the bullet train to Kyoto. Arrival and check in to Hotel Okura Kyoto.

Sun 21 Feb

Day 10 — Kyoto full-day sightseeing

Meet English-speaking guide (ESG) in the hotel lobby. Full-day private coach tour of Kyoto's highlights including Kiyomizu-dera, Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion), Fushimi Inari, and more.

Mon 22 Feb

Days 11–12 — Explore Kyoto

Two free days to explore Kyoto on your own. Optional guided tours can be arranged on request.

Wed 24 Feb

Day 13 — Bullet train to Tokyo

Meet ESA in the hotel lobby. Private coach to Kyoto station, then bullet train to Shinagawa (Tokyo). Walk to the Tokyo accommodation with ESA, check in, and pick up the luggage forwarded from Hakuba.

Thu 25 Feb

Day 14 — Tokyo sightseeing tour

Full- or half-day guided Tokyo tour with ESG. Visit Sensō-ji, Tokyo Sky Tree, Tsukiji Market, the Imperial Palace, and more by private coach.

Fri 26 Feb

Day 15 — Fly home

Meet ESA in the hotel lobby. Private coach transfer to Tokyo airport (HND or NRT). Fly back to your hometown.
